A yearly tune-up costs a fraction of an emergency spring or opener repair — 5 Star Garage Door Service checks the full system, not just the obvious parts.
We built our Garage Door Maintenance service around River Forest, IL customers who need a specialist, not a generalist working outside their depth.
We'd rather send one truck that's actually equipped for garage door maintenance than three that aren't, even if it means a slightly longer wait on a rare occasion.
A visit that only lubricates hinges misses the wear that causes future breakdowns.
We flag parts nearing the end of their service life so you can replace them on your schedule.
{Door balance and auto-reverse function get tested on every visit, not just new installs.|An opener working against an unbalanced door burns out years faster.|Sensor function gets verified as standard practice, every River Forest, IL call.}
Commercial accounts with high-cycle doors benefit especially given the added wear.
Rollers, hinges, tracks, and springs get inspected and properly lubricated — with the right product for each part, not a generic spray-everything approach.
We test door balance with the opener disconnected — a properly balanced door reduces strain on every other component.
We verify auto-reverse function and force settings meet safety standards — on every maintenance visit.
We check for track misalignment and roller wear before either causes an incident — minor adjustments during maintenance prevent the bigger jobs that follow neglect.
Bottom seals and side weatherstripping get checked for cracking or gaps — we check seal condition against both door bottom and side tracks.

{Work is completed and tested through a full cycle before we call the job finished.|We verify safety function and smooth operation before asking for your sign-off.|Workmanship is backed by our guarantee, not just a handshake.}
"""Yearly visit is now just part of our routine. Cheaper than any repair we've had."""
"""Signed up for annual maintenance after a bad spring emergency last year. No surprise breakdowns since."""
"""Tech caught a roller about to fail during a routine visit. Would have been an emergency call otherwise."""
"""Appreciated that they didn't try to sell me parts I didn't need yet."""
"""Thorough inspection, clear notes on what to watch for next year."""
This often catches other small issues before they turn into separate service calls.
Annual maintenance is standard for typical residential use; twice yearly if your door cycles multiple times daily.
Full hardware inspection, lubrication, spring tension check, opener testing, and track assessment.
We can't promise zero breakdowns, but it substantially reduces the odds.
We'll explain any recommended follow-up work separately, with its own quote.
We document everything found so nothing gets missed between visits.
